The Society of Toxicology, India - (generally known as the Indian Society of Toxicology) or in short STOX was formed to facilitate the exchange of ideas, information and knowledge among scientists, practitioners and policy makers working in different research and development areas of environment and occupational health or related areas of toxicology.

The Society was founded by Prof P.K. Gupta in the year 1979 at Lucknow. The Society is a founder member of the International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX) since 1980.

Appeal for co-operation to help your Society to grow

First of all let me convey our sincere thanks for the quick response and whole hearted support to Dr Rakesh YashRoy (circular/ appeal issued during the first quarter of year 2004 by executive secretary of STOX) for payment of Rs 300/- as one time contribution towards lifetime membership fee) in order to meet the increasing cost of publication and decreasing bank interest rates. After the dead line several members approached the Society for extension of date. At the request of members, the Society in its last meeting held in October 2007 in Bangalore decided as under:

Initially when a person became a life member they paid variable amount based on the then current Life Membership fees. However, recently the executive committee has decided to raise the Life Membership fees to Rs 2000/-.

In order for you to be Current Life Member of good standing (except those whose names appear in the list of members of good standing) you need to pay an additional Rs. 800/- to the STOX. To make it easier for payment STOX requests that you simply deposit/pay Rs. 800/- directly to the following STOX account.

Bank :State Bank of India
